Wigan vs West Ham by Jamesington
West Ham United and Wigan are two sides who, in all honesty, probably do not deserve to stay up. The way Blackpool and Wolves have entertained on Match of the Day every weekend and really played their hearts out has won them a lot of respect, not to mention fans. These two more experienced Premiership sides though have disappointed repeatedly this season.
Wigan arguably have been unlucky with injuries and suspensions and will next year, whether they stay up or not, probably not have names like Charles N'Zogbia and Hugo Rodallega to call upon as these star players seek bigger clubs. For this second last match though the players have a chance to really make heroes of themselves by keeping the club up with a win.
Wigan are at home and, despite their erratic performances this season, will be pressing hard to get goals from early on. West Ham cannot afford anything but victory and I think these two factors will lead to a high scoring match between two clubs with everything to lose.
West Ham United should really be too good to go down but as we know from a couple of years back with Newcastle, it is not the individual players (see Scott Parker, Matty Upson, Robert Green and Mark Noble) but the team that matters and West Ham have not had a good enough team all year - not to mention all the cr#p that has gone on in the boardroom.
Both sides are dying for points and therefore will be dying for goals. OVER 3.5 GOALS.
