Miami Marlins vs P. Phillies by Jamesington
Tonight I am starting a new feature whereby I will make a selection on a number of baseball matches and will hopefully, across the board, make a profit.
The goal is of course 100% success but we are using good value odds and clever staking to ensure a profit, even without this flawless record.
Both teams have their aces out tonight.
Roy Halladay and Josh Johnson are the go-to men for their teams when they require to post some Zeroes on the scoreboard alongside the opposition's name.
With respective ERAs of 2.19 and 1.68 these guys do not give up a lot of runs. Halladay has 5 wins, Johnson 3... both from 7 opportunities.
The general message here is this match is going to be about good pitching. We know that good pitching should beat good batting and that means low runs tonight.
I was planning to go against the 6 run line but that does seem awfully low, particularly if there is a late blowout by one of the relief pitchers.
My call is stay safe. No runs in the first inning for a fairly good reward. Maximum stake.
