Aberdeen FC vs Saint Mirren by Jamesington

This is a match I initially wanted to steer clear of as to me there is no immediately obvious outcome. The Saints are desperate for a win, yet so will Aberdeen be as their fans have had to endure a diabolical year with their club stumbling from brief period of excitement to disastrous loss after loss.

I really have no strong opinion on the result of this match (I hope St. Mirren win as I am a fan) but really fear that the game will be a dull, lifeless one settled by a moment of scrappiness, rather than magic. Having said that, the Saints have been known to put in a performance or two in the bigger matches this season and this is certainly a big match.

If St. Mirren get a goal, the most likely source is Michael Higdon, their top scorer this season with fourteen so far in the SPL. Higdon hasn't scored a in a few games but he will be the focal point of St. Mirren's attacks.

If the Buddies come out fast - as they need to - then look for Higdon to be found lurking around the Aberdeen for much of the first half.

While I had decided to have nothing to do with this game, the 8/1 on offer about Higdon opening the scoring seems pretty good value. Minimum stake will give non-fans an interest in the game.
