Arsenal vs Man. United by Jamesington

For the month of May I have taken a different approach, many of my tips will be longer term ones, perhaps published a few weeks in advance to take advantage of better odds.

Simply put - any time you get odds of 2.9 on Manchester United (no matter who they're playing) it has to be worth a look. On this occasion it is also worth a bet. United are much the stronger of the two sides - both physically and in terms of form.

Arsenal, who earlier this season lost in the Carling Cup Final to Birmingham City, have fallen apart in the last few weeks. Somewhat unbelievably the Gunners have won only one of their last NINE matches - seemingly again Arsene Wenger's men are lacking the grit to clear the final hurdle.

At home in the league Arsenal haven't won since February and are facing a Manchester United team who know that a win will seriously enhance their title chances - and allow them to perhaps focus a bit more on the upcoming Champions' League final where they will face Barcelona.

Not only have Arsenal been on a poor run, but United have been their usual clinical selves, second half goals winning matches against Everton, Schalke and Chelsea in the past month. While some of Manchester's performances have been far from brilliant (see FA Cup Semi Final/Away to Newcastle) they generally turn it up a notch when required to do so and won't have any difficulty in doing so against a (literally) lightweight Arsenal side.

Look for Javier Hernandez to terrorise the Arsenal centre-backs who, barring a miracle Thomas Vermaelen recovery, are generally pretty weak. With Rooney, Giggs, Park and friends all gunning for the Gunners goal, United will score. it's just a case of how many....
