Turkey GP vs Special Market by Jamesington

For the month of May I have taken a different approach, many of my tips will be longer term ones, perhaps published a few weeks in advance to take advantage of better odds.

From the start of the season Sebastien Vettel has been the man to beat. Last time out, in China, Lewis Hamilton achieved this feat - relegating the German to second position. Vettel won the first two races of the year though and remains 21 points clear at the top of the Drivers' Championship Leaderboard.

Many will remember last year's Turkish Grand Prix for the collision between Vettel and teammate Mark Webber which resulted in the German crashing out of the race and his Australian colleague losing valuable seconds with an unplanned pit-stop (which probably cost him the race). Hamilton went on to win the race ahead of his teammate Jenson Button who claimed first place the year before. Expect Vettel to do his utmost to win at one of the lessening number of tracks where he is yet to taste victory.

Mark Webber has been driving well this year, he is currently one point behind JB in fourth position for the Driver's Championship. He had an incredible drive in China which took him from eighteenth position on the grid to a final position on the podium. I envisage Webber taking this form into the race at Turkey as he also looks for a win at a track where he probably feels he already should have won (last year). When Webber drives well, Vettel tends to as well so expect their 'friendly' rivalry to be on display in Turkey.

Despite the formidable challenges of Hamilton, Button, Webber etc I expect Sebastien Vettel to come out on top at Istanbul Park. Vettel is quickly taking on the mantle of Michael Schumacher as the Formula One circuit's dominant German driver.

A smallish stake on Kobayashi to make it a hat-trick of races in the points should pay dividends and I would also suggest a 1pt wager on Scotsman Paul Di Resta who has been on the fringes of scoring in every race.
