Liverpool are currently on an 8 match unbeaten run at Anfield - they have won their last three (against Manchester United, Manchester City and Birmingham) scoring eleven goals in the process. Right now, they are as hot as it gets when playing at home.
Newcastle, on the other hand, are arriving at Anfield looking for only their second away win since the first week of 2011. They are not exactly strong travellers, having scored only 13 away goals in the league all season - despite being the second TOP scorers at home.
So here we have two Jekyll and Hyde teams. Sides who at home seem to play like men posessed, putting in magnificent displays for their home crowds but away from home, perhaps not quite the same strength is on show.
Apart from a 4-1 win against Wolves, Newcastle have really struggled for goals lately and they are coming up against a side who are currently scoring for fun.
With the leaky back line Newcastle have away from home I cannot see anything but a Reds win.
The key men for Liverpool of late have been Dirk Kuyt and Raul Meireles - both putting in stellar displays since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish in the managers position. Kuyt has been playing in a much more advanced role, even with the presence of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, so look for the Dutchman to find the net against the Magpies (the club who came so close to signing him before having him snatched from under their noses by Liverpool). Kuyt has scored in their last three matches, expect him to make that run four.
