Phoenix vs Colorado by 20legend
This is the last meeting between these two teams this season. Phoenix has won all the three meeting so far and they will surely go for a sweep here:
February 7, 2011 COL@PHX ---------- Phoenix, 3 - 0
January 26, 2011 PHX@COL ---------- Phoenix, 5 - 2
January 6, 2011 PHX@COL ---------- Phoenix, 2 - 0
Phoenix Coyotes are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and keeps on fighting for a playoff-spot. They are 4th in the West, but has still a job to do if they are going to playoff for the 2nd time in a row.
Phoenix was struggling very much on the ice against Dallas Stars at March 30. Dallas had mostly outplayed Phoenix, but Phoenix was still fighting, and won 2-1 after shootout. It shows a huge hunger to enter the playoffs, and this match against the Colorado Avalanche should be a easier game on the ice itself.
Defender Ed Jovanovski and centers Martin Hanzal and Lauri Korpikoski is still out for Phoenix Coyotes, but they hope to be back before the playoffs.
Coach Dave Tippett is clear on the effort that has to be central in each and every game now, and he is clear on that the players can't get a feeling of letting points go by. In other words, Phoenix is mentally ready to crush Colorado in front of their homecrowd tonight.
Colorado dosen't need any further presentation. It is just the same thing every time. Easy mistakes are done at the wrong time, and Colorado gets punished in every game. Colorado are 2-8-0 in the last 10 games, and dosen't stop loosing. Center Matt Duchene and Paul Stastny has been some positive spots on the team, but they can't sve the team theirselves.
Last night they lost 2-3 against Nashville Predators and that scured Colorado's 26th loss in their last 30 games.
Colorado veteran and captain Adam Foot has been out for a while now with a leg injury and Ryan Wilson with a knee injury. Both is out also for tonight's match, which defenatly not getting things look easier for the struggling Colorado Avalanche.
Phoenix major problem though is their goalscoring. They have only managed to score 8 goals in their last 5 matches, which should remind them on not to take easily on the struggling Colorado defence. Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgaloy has been outstaning though with only 1.54 goals-against average and he has won 7 out of 9 starts.
Colorado played hard against Nashville last night, but didn't managed to win this time either. If Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgaloy keeps up his good work, and Phoenix starts to score more goals, this should be a easy victory for Phoenix. Colorado's bad form seems to never stop, and I think it will be way to tough for them away from home tonight, against playoff-hunting Phoenix Coyotes.
