Falkirk vs Stirling Albion by Jamesington

Despite the year 2011 being only a matter of hours old, I feel this is one of the best opportunities for a bet you will find all year.

Falkirk v Stirling could prove to be one of the most one-sided matches of the season.

Falkirk with 16 goals in 8 matches, have - at home - scored more goals than any other team in the division (except leaders Dunfermline).

Stirling with 17 in 8 matches, have - away - conceded more goals than any other team in the division (except Ross County).

Falkirk have spent time recently in the SPL - Scottish Premier League and were unfortunate to be relegated. Stirling, on the other hand, have only recently come up from a lower division.

Falkirk have scored a goal in the first of half of 6/7 of there wins this season and are therefore, on paper, the stronger team.

While none of these statistics make this a completely solid bet, the following information does....

Stirling are missing TWELVE first team squad members through illness. The squad is so limited that the club asked for the match to be postponed - the league said no! Stirling have now launched a late search to find enough players (from anywhere) to play for them in this match, just so they can field a team of eleven players. Stirling Manager John O'Neill was quoted as saying "I will not be able to start thinking about a formation or personnel until Sunday lunch-time at the earliest."

Oh, and did I mention Falkirk won 5-0 when the two teams met last month?

Let's go!
