Hanescu vs Brands by Beatle

3rd round of Wimbledon 2010.

Two evenly contested players meets here at what I suppose should be at least a 4-set match with at least two tie breaks in progress. These two never met before.

Victor Hanescu, ranked 38 is a very experienced player with huge serve and surely this means much at grass. He played A.Kuznetsov in the first round and I must say he had a bit of luck because Andrei is very young player and he lacks experience so much ! Hanescu won by 3 sets to 2 and it was a long match indeed !

At the 2nd round Hanescu played against Marcel Ilhan from Turkey and he won by 3 sets to 1. Pretty easy I must say. What is most important about this two matches - Hanescu is yet to play against player who posseses the same weapon as Victor - a serve. He struggled against young Kuznetsov and he defeated pretty easily another mid-skilled player - M.Ilhan.

Daniel Brands, ranked 98 is a considerably young player with huge serve. Defeated two russians - Andreev and Davydenko is first and second roung accordingly and lost only one set in progress (first set agaisnt Davy). He should be less tired and pretty well ready for the Hanescu challenge. I don't think Brands will struggle from the very start of the match. He possesses a great serve and his forehand is also a strong weapon. Overall, he is in better form at the moment and he has more opportunities to change the style of play during the match.

All in all, I don't think Hanescu will find a solution to defeat Brands today. Once his serve will not click as good as always, he will lose it. Brands showed really well that he converts his chances very well and I think he will have multiple opportunities to break Hanescu today. Brands is a better player overall and his confidence is sky-high after he defeated Davy. I give the edge to german player.

Best of Luck !pin
