Dinamo Riga vs Novokuznetsk by Beatle

Well, some of you may know that I'm Dynamo Riga fan. Surely, I watch every game of my home team. You may imagine that Dinamo Riga is the most popular team in our country. Almost nobody pays attention to other latvian teams like Liepajas Metallurgs and other that are playing in Belarussian Open Hockey League.

Almost every home match of Dinamo Riga is played with the full Arena ( more than 6,000 ppl ). So the atmosphere in the Arena is really great. By the way, our supporters are known as the best in KHL and one of the best in the World. And you really would agre if you hear and see this atmosphere at the Arena.

So... what we have tonight.

Dinamo are playing 5 home matches in 8 days. 2 are played. Both against one of the weakest teams in the league. BUT ! What we have here ? Would it will be surprising for you or not but Sibir was playing BETTER than Dynamo in 2nd match. The fist match ended 6-4 to Dynamo btw. 3-1 after 1st, 5-3 after 2nd and in the 3rd it was a critical situation for Dinamo. Riga conceded right in the end of period with some time remaining for Sibir ( I think it was 5 minutes ). And it was shaky... However our great Matt Hartigan have scored into the empty net just one second before full time. But as I speak, next day Sibir were playing completely different hockey. Sergeis Naumovs was playing as a gk in the first match and conceded a couple of easy goals. Our superstar, Martin Prusek ( real pro I must say. For me he's one of the best keepers I ever saw playing ) was playing in the second matchup and that made the result. If Naumovs was in the net, Riga would have lost. And I mean it ! Prusek was great at the net and he conceded JUST (!) two goals from possible 6-7. It was amazing. he also made our day after playing great in the shootout ( 2-2 fulltime, 1-0 to Riga in the shootout, the goal was scored by our Nr.10 - Darzins, who plays in Latvian National Team ) . Basicly, Dinamo Riga is the main power of our National Team. More than half players are from Dinamo. So you can imagine how strong is the support of our fans.

To sum up, the first match was a well-deserved victory. The second should have been lost, but it wasn't to be for Sibir because of Prusek. Riga collects 5 points from 6 in the first 2 matches of FINAL-FIVE home matches in the Regular season.

Tonight, we have Metallurg Novokuznetsk, that is stronger than Sibir and is under-estimated as well as Sibir was in the 2nd match. Q for Riga to win in regular time is 1.45 now. Can you imagine this ? But Metallurg is stronger than Sibir ! Yes, they've lost to Spartak (1-2) and Dinamo Moscow (1-6) in their last 2 away games, but they can win strongest teams of KHL from time to time I must say. From my point of view as a hard supporter of my home team, Dinamo won't have easy game tonight and it's a mistake from bookies in my opinion.

P.S. It's Monday. Match will be played @ 19:30 local time. I think that Arena won't be full tonight.

P.P.S Just from mathematical point of view, it's hard to imagine Dinamo winning all five last matches of the season at home. I dont wish Riga to lose, but 2-1 or 3-2 would be perfect :). Even 9-8 would be great !

To sum up, Novokuznetsk are under-estimated, but Dinamo have less energy than in the last match. Perfect chance for Metallurg.

Best of Luck to all of you !
