Droylsden vs Chesterfield by Radu

The first meeting between the teams was abandoned at half-time due to fog at Saltergate with Droylsden leading 1-0.

In the rearranged match, Chesterfield allowed the non-league side to equalise with an uncontested goal after Jack Lester scored following a throw-in instead of handing the ball back to the Droylsden goalkeeper.

Last week's replay was also abandoned due to floodlight failure with Chesterfield leading 2-0 with 18 minutes remaining.

A trip to Ipswich awaits the eventual winners in round three.

Chesterfield manager Lee Richardson told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"For me the game should have carried on, the referee has to hide behind stupid safety regulations.

"I don't understand that we can stand around on the pitch for 20 minutes with the crowd in the ground, but we can't play football for 15 minutes and see where we are.

"It makes no sense to me, there was complete visibility, you could see the whole pitch from all sides of the ground. There are plenty of games that will be played this season with worse visibility than at Droylsden."

Squads news taken from bbcsport:

Droylsden welcome back midfielder Jamie McGuire from a three-match ban for the rescheduled FA Cup second round tie.

Mike Byron continues his comeback from a hamstring injury but Carl Ruffer and Tony Gray remain cup-tied.

Chesterfield midfielders Lloyd Kerry and Jamie Winter return to contention after one-match suspensions.

Defender Alan Goodall serves the second of a four-match ban but a late decision will be made on the fitness of captain Robert Page after a calf injury.

Chesterfield was ready to end the story of this game when they were leading by 2-0 and i am sure that will do it today.I chosed also a goalscorer in person of their most efficient striker ,Jarnie Ward, with 3 goals in FA Cup and 12 in league. His numbers are impressive and for sure Chesterfield belong to this.
