Podbeskidzie vs Piast Gliwice by PlusMeczu
Not the worst but also not as impressive as last season, where they didn’t give three points either to Lech and Legia, two undoubtedly strongest sides in the league last year.
And you have to know that Piast is a rival that Podbeskidzie hate playing with. Last two games at Bielsko Podbeskidzie lost 0:1 and 1:2 and also in Gliwice Podbeskidzie didn’t win any of their last 5 clashes.
It isn’t enough? So what would you say if three first-team midfielders and one backup are all suspended today because of card festival last week in game with Wisla? Iwanski (12/2 m), Chmiel (13/5 m, top scorer), Sloboda (13/1 m) and Deja (2/0 m) are all out for today and it will be a real headache for Podbeskidzie coach, Leszek Ojrzynski.
On the other hand, Piast won in the midweek with Belchatow 5:0 in Polish Cup game, so their morale will be very high. This was a goalfest and a great game of resurected Janczyk, finally 100% fit Vassiljev and brilliant Badia (what a shame his stamina is not his best atribute as he usually plays no more than 60-65 minutes…). Today coach Perez Garcia will have a problem, because he has two strikers in good form (Janczyk and Wilczek), Mokwa played nice as right-back and usual first-team regular, Klepczynski sometimes disappoints… But this is kind of problems that everybody would love to have.
Piast may not be a league favourite, but with their record against Podbeskidzie and their recent form, they can easily win today. GL.
