Shrewsbury vs Chelsea by Lloyds

Shrewsbury will host Chelsea in the 1/8 finals of the Capital One Cup. The visitors are coming a bit disappointed as they were so close to snatching all 3 points against Manchester United on Sunday. Jose Murinho is likely to give a rest to the majority of the first team tonight which means that bench players will get the minutes. Shrewsbury are doing great in the English League Two, being placed 4th on the table and just a point behind the direct promotion zone. The Shrews are on a 4-game winning streak, beating Portsmouth 5-1 at home in their last match.

Interesting thing about the hosts is that they are yet to lose at home this season. In League Two, the Shrews are the best home team with 22 points out of possible 24. Also, they have an impressive goal difference when playing at home (19-3) which is a plus factor on their side. Chelsea have been impressive on the road this season but had only one clean sheet when away from home, against Sporting in the Champions League.

With a mixed squad tonight Chelsea are still heavy favorites but I don't think they will focus too much defensively. Even with their full defensive backs they conceded a goal on almost every match away this season so it's hard to believe that 2nd defensive lineup will change that. Shrewsbury will be motivated and they can certainly score tonight. pin
