St. Pauli vs Dortmund by Lloyds

After another disappointing performance in Bundesliga Dortmund travel to face St.Pauli on the road in 1/16 phase of DFB Pokal. Dortmund dominated the game against Hannover on Saturday but they couldn't score a single goal. The loss to Hannover was 4th in a row in the German top flight, which now puts a bit of pressure on Jurgen Klopp to try motivating the squad as they are in desperate need of a win.

The hosts are looking bounce back after a disastrous game against Karlsruher where they conceded 4 goals on their home turf. St.Pauli are in bad form which means that they'll have to prioritize matches in the 2nd Bundesliga as they are currently in the relegation zone. In the upcoming weekend they face Nurnberg on the road so it's likely that they'll rest some key players for that match, which is more important.

Dortmund are also in the similar situation. They have a huge game against Bayern on Saturday which means Klopp could opt out to rotate his squad a bit.

The visitors were reaching the last phase of the Cup in the recent years and this match won't be a difficult task for them, even though they are not in good form. The home side know that Cup could take its toll later in the season and they will elect to fight for staying out of relegation. That's why I expect Dortmund to put a match to sleep already at halftime. pin
