Pavlyuchenkova vs Outright Winner by Tennisguy

My pick is Pavlyuchenkova to win the Moscow WTA tournament.

I think Pavlyuchenkova has a very good chance of winning this tournament especially from the way she played in her first round match. She defeated Konjuh 6-3, 6-4 who is a though opponents and has managed some surprises in the past weeks. Pavlyuchenkova served very well throughout the match and I was very impressed with her movement on the court considering that in the past that was one of her weaker points.

She will be playing Riske next and even though she is down 2-0 in the h2h against her I believe she is going to win this match without a lot of problems. I say this because Riske won a tournament last week in Tianjin and in the first round here despite the way the scoreboard might look she did not perform that well against an almost amateur player named Kasatkina. Riske gave her opponent 10 break chance opportunities and if she plays like that against Pavlyuchenkova she won't be so lucky.

There are other good players in this half of the table like Giorgi and Cibulkova but Pavlyuchenkova can win against any of them. Also considering Giorgi is probably tired from playing a lot of matches last week at Linz where she lost in the final and that Cibulkova is playing really bad tennis lately Pavlyuchenkova has a good chance of progressing.

On the other half of the table the only players worth mentioning are Kuznetsova and Safarova who are actually playing each other. I think almost for sure one of them will be in the final and that will be the hardest opponent for Pavlyuchenkova in the tournament. Though an eventual final against one of these players would be hard I think the chances will be kind of 50-50, so considering the odds offered by the bookies for Pavlyuchenkova to win the tournament this bet has a lot of value to me.
