Castres is in big trouble in this season. Indeed, they are currently last of Top 14 with only ten points. Castres won only two games this season: 30-6 against Bayonne and 27-18 against Oyonnax but every time they played against B teams. Last week, the CO has lost to LOU 28-18. Castres style of play is very restrictive. Most of their tries are not built and rely heavily on individual feats (Martial against the LOU, Kockott against Oyonnax). Worse, the CO is completely dominated in scrum since the beginning of the season. Against Team B of Oyonnax they were penalized many times in this area. Against Lyon, they have also been in trouble while Lyon is one of the worst teams in this sector. Admittedly, was not helped by the injury of the prop Wihongi (best prop of the team) who was returning after six months of absence.
For their match at Pierre-Antoine, the prop will start again on the bench. Forestier, Bonello, Herrera, Desroches, Whetton, Garvey, Grosso and Sivivatu are still in the infirmary while Evans is back and Talès is preserved.
In the starting XV Castres, there are two players who attended the stage with French team this week: Kockott Lamerat while several coaches said their international had returned very tired from this stage. They should therefore not play the whole game. The first line Faanunu, Mach, Lazar is used to go back in scrum since the beginning of the season. The third line Caballero, Beattie, Faasalele lack of power. At the back Palis is struggling to establish itself. In short, it will not be easy for Castres tonight!
The starting XV: Palis; Evans, Lamerat, Cabannes, Martial; (o) Kirkpatrick, (m) Kockott; Caballero, Beattie, Faasalele; Capo Ortega, Samson; Faanunu Mach Lazar.
Substitutes: Go To, Taumoepeau, Gray, Bornman, Garcia, Combezou, Dumora, Wihongi.
Grenoble made a remarkable start to the season. They are fourth in the championship with four home wins and two bonus points taken away: Montpellier and Clermont! Their only loss was a bit heavy on the ground of Oyonnax (40-27), but they had set up a large turnover. If Grenoble is so good in this season, it's because they have maintained their excellent conquest and have made a very smart recruitment with winger Aplon, flanker Rory Grice, the Willison center, number 10 Wisniewski McLeod and the number 9.
The FCG is aware that there is something to make tonight at Castres. That is why they have decided to line-up almist the same team as last week. Skeate is back in the starting XV, certainly fight with Castres in line-out. Aplon, Kimlin, Faure and Beukes are still injured.
The starting XV: Gengenbacher; Ratini, Farrell, Hunt, Caminati; (o) Wisniewski, (m) McLeod; Alexande, Grice, Vanderglas; Skeate, Hand; Owen, Heguy Dardet.
Subs: Hegarty, Buckle, Choirat Rey, Diaby, Hart, Willison, Messina.
For me, this game is 50:50. I see Grenoble bothered Castres in scrum. The back line of Grenoble is impressive. I find this handicap too high !!
