Becker vs Sock by Tennisguy

Becker
VS
Sock
This is a quarterfinal match from the Tokyo ATP tournament between Benjamin Becker from Germany and Jack Sock from USA.

These players have met 1 time, but on clay court in Houston 2014, in a match that Sock won.

So far Becker has played very well getting past Nieminen(who eventually retired in the second set after losing the first) and Ito (the man who produced the biggest surprise in this tournament by eliminating Wawrinka) . Becker seems to be serving at a very high level so I think he will do well in this match. Sock is not a very good returner and he will find it hard to get a break chance. On the other hand he also serves quite well so it will probably be a close match.

Sock defeated so far Dolgopolov (this might seem like a big deal but Dolgopolov hadn't played any matches from more that two months so he was clearly off his game) and Golubev (against who he really struggled in the second part of the match especially on his service, which is very strange).

I think Sock is a little bit to unpredictable as a player and I will gladly go with the experience of Becker in this one. I believe if the german serves well he will eventually frustrate his much younger opponent and then the break chances will appear for him. Either way Becker is the one to back here in my opinion.
