Montenegro
VS
Moldova
Montenegro and Moldova will face each other, again, in the qualifiers but this time it will be for the Euro 2016. The ending of WC Qualifiers for Montenegro wasn't pretty at all as they suffered the worst defeat in their national football history. The game ended 5-2 for Moldova, in a match where Montenegro's defense inexplicably collapsed. That loss raised a lot of question on the future of the national team and put coach Branko Brnovic on the hot seat. Despite the horrific end to the last year's qualifiers (3-8 goal difference in the last two matches), Brnovic remained on the bench and the pressure to succeed is bigger then ever. On the other hand Moldova is not likely to repeat last year's performance but now they won't be underestimated. The visitors will be looking for any points while victory in this match is the only acceptable outcome for the Montenegrins.

Brnovic submitted his 22-men squad for this match and there are some new faces but the core of the team remained pretty much the same. The good news for Montenegro are that both Mirko Vucinic (39/15) and Stevan Jovetic (30/12) will be healthy and ready for this match. They are the cornerstones of this team and two of them playing together for the national team wasn't a regular occurrence due to many injuries they both suffered. Dejan Damjanovic (23/7) is also called up and he is likely to start along Vucinic and Jovetic in the attack. Damjanovic was one of the most consistent players throughout WC qualifiers and his form will be of vital importance for Montenegro. Coach Brnovic decided to ride along with Vukasin Poleksic on the goal as he didn't call Mladen Bozovic, who was the starter in the majority of matches in the last two years. There won't be any significant injuries except the defender Marko Basa (23/2) who is questionable due to injury he sustained a week ago playing for his club, Lille.

There isn't much to say about Moldova, who are not really among the teams for the top3 spots in the group. Anything above 5th place in this group would be a huge success as they are predicted to finish behind Sweden,Russia,Austria and Montenegro. They are coming off a defeat against Ukraine (1-0) in a friendly match. Moldova didn't impress in Kiev but they've shown that they are a tough nut to crack when playing defensively. The man in form is the goalkeeper, Ilie Cebanu, who had some incredible saves on Wednesday. They are likely to play for a draw on Monday night but they'll certainly look for their chances from counter attacks which is Montenegro's weak spot.

The coaching staff of Montenegro announced that goal in this qualifiers is capturing the 3rd place (presumably behind Sweden and Russia), which would send them to the playoffs. As they said, Montenegro is eying to reach 20 points at the end of qualifiers which is enough for one of the top3 spots in the groups. To achieve that, Montenegro will not settle for anything except for win on Monday. The atmosphere on their home stadium and newly changed grass will carry Vucinic,Jovetic & Co. to revenge for the last year's defeat. Montenegro usually starts the qualifiers with great motivation to win. Moldova will find themselves in a wrong place at the wrong time.
