Djokovic vs Nishikori by Mijkel

Novak Djokovic - Kei Nishikori

Djokovic had a hard time playing prior to US Open he lost both in Toronto and Cincinnati in the second round losing to Tsonga and Robredo in two sets.. He has reached QF here though. In my opinion bookies give him too much credit. Odds suggest a clean 3-0 win to Novak, but I think it won’t be as easy. Djokovic had a fairly simple draw so far. He went through first three rounds taking 3-0 wins. Then he faced Kohlschreiber who hat a set point in the second but messed up and went down 3-0 aswell. Kohli should’ve atleast taken a set there. He played two tie-breaks against Murray and dropped a set.

Nishikori is playing amazing. The no.11 beat both Raonic and Wawrinka in 5 sets. You might think he is fatigued but 2 days without matches helps. He played two tiebreaks against Wawa and two against Raonic. I expect him to put up a good fight against the world no.1 too.

H2H shows 1 win each + a walkover for Djokovic.

2011 Basel Nishikori 2-6 7-6 6-0

2010 French Open Djokovic 6-1 6-4 6-4

The line is set 33.5 games. I will take this since I expect the Japanese to take atleast a set, but even something like 6-4 7-6 7-5 will do.

Sorry, a typo: SF here not QF. Pick still remains :)

More than 33.5 is likely to happen.
