S. Williams vs Kanepi by Mijkel

Serena Williams - Kaia Kanepi

Serena got to the 4th round with ease beating every opponent 2-0. She is currently on an unbeaten run of 8 games as she won the WTA Cincinnati prior to US Open. Grand Slams haven’t been good to Serena this year. She was knocked out before the quarter-finals in all the others Grand Slams this year.

Kaia Kanepi is surprisingly good this tournament and managed to kick out Sam Stosur(3-6;6-3;7-6) and Carla Suarez Navarro(7-5;6-0). She is in good form, both physical and mental. Her mental state has been the reason for many failures in the past but something seems to click well with her this week. If Kanepi was ever to beat Serena, today would be the day she would get the closest to it.

They have met each other three times before, Serena winning each match.:

2009 Beijing 7-5 6-4

2008 Wimbledon 7-5 6-3

2008 Miami 6-3 6-3

My bet is to go for overs here. The line is set 17.5 so I will take it seen as 6-3 6-3 will do it. The H2H have all gone over this line and Serena's last match against Lepchenko was 6-3 6-3 too.

Actually Kanepi +6.5 offers better odds, realised that after I made my bet. You can get 2.10 on Kanepi +6,5 at Marathon.
