Manchester C. vs Liverpool by Marlo
Although I have beeen flirting with the idea of making more value selections as you need less percentage of wins to land return on your investment, I will stick to the script here.
Picking a winner for this clash may sometimes be trying to pick the first 2 lotto numbers. As we see week in, week out in the Premier League, it is a game in which sometimes the small moments wins you the game and result in the end can be one of shock or horror depending on who you support.
Liverpool for instance, instead of rallying in their win last week at Anfield, could have been humming a different tune if that strike late on had gone in instead of hitting the crossbar. a 2-2 instead of 2-1 makes a big difference in the title race, media reports, team mood, critic reviews and most importantly motivaton for the next game.
Manchester City began last week with a 2-0 win, again painting a different picture as Newcastle pressed for an equaliser towards the end and Aguero doubled the lead in stoppage time with some quick and clever work as usual. A 1-1 or 1-0 gives an entirely different picture.
Onto this game, Aguero might get the nod as he approaches full fitness, even if he doesn't Jovetic and Dzecko are able strikers.
Liverpool has overflowing attacking potential with a new SAS, Sturridge and Sterling. (I know, I like the first SAS better too)
In summary, I thought of this pick the minute I saw the fixture on and I accepted I will post regardless of odds as often odds put us off what we wanted and makes us select big priced selections which never come in.
I want both teams to score and I will have that here.
Last 6 encounters between these 2 had btts, even the recent pre season game had a 2-2 after being goal less at the half.
Looks a banker. Is over 2.5 goals better though? I'm glad you asked. It does cover a 3-0 by either team. If City get a 2-0 lead they may well keep Liverpool out, but I see Rodgers team scoring and it does cover the 1-1 in case of a cagey affair.
