First round of the Copa Sudamericana 2014. Game is between Nacional Potosi and Libertad Asuncion.

This will be a debut for the home team in the south american tournaments. However that don't scare me to seek the home victory here. Nacional Potosi are playing 4000 metres above the sea level. If you follow the south american teams you know that in previous editions of the Sudamericana as well as the Libertadores many quality teams from Brazil and Argentina fail to win there due to the high altitude. And the teams from the named countryies played at around 3000 metres , so you can imagine what will be at 4000.

Libertad are pretty solid team , but i can't see them handle the high altitude. They are playing in Asuncion , witch is located at sea level. They will have to travel 1000 kilometres with bus.

So i rarely do this , but in this case i will not bet on the team or the players , i will bet on the altitude.

Odds for clear home win started at 2.60 at Marathon , but now they are 2 and continue to drop.

Still value in this pick imo with pretty decent odds , as there is a bit of backup in case of a draw . pin

I admit that LIbertad are the better team here , but you are underestimating the altitude. Can you imagine playing whole season at 0 metres and suddenly go and play at 4000 ? It's not someting not to take as a factor here. No doubt in my mind that Libertad will crush them in the 2-nd leg with big score. Still good luck with your bet.
