Stoke City vs Aston Villa by Marlo

Barclays gets underway and some short prices on the coupon.

Thank goodness Stoke don't have a loyal fanbase as we won't get anywhere near the price we are being offered for the Potters (Pot of Cash?).

Stoke are a home team through and through and a large portion of their success is attributed to the home comforts, fortress if you will.

They finished in the top 10 and had the 6th best home record in the league.

Stoke has signed Bojan Krkic and has also got Sidwell and Bardsley added to their ranks. Both with PL experience and in Bojan an exciting talent to make his mark against an ordinary team. If he bags a goal or two here his confidence will get off in the best possible way for the season ahead.

Huth has returned to fitness.

What to make of Villa?

Villa stayed up last season, but it was far from an easy task and they will be missing Benteke here, a proven goal scorer and a giant irreplacable cog in this otherwise ordinary outfit.

Have they improved? Well, they have signed some rather forgettable lads. Joe Cole, Senderos and Richardson are far from match winners and time will tell if they can significant value to an ailing team.

Bent and Nzogbia will need to shoulder much of the scoring responsibilities.

Stoke are capable of turning even the best teams in the league at home if they turn up and expect a walkover. I fail to see why a poor side like Villa shouldn't suffer the same fate.

Stoke did the double over them last season and with Villa not winning their last 6 away from home, I'm involved.

-1AH looks good too but don't wanna get greedy.
