Schwechat vs Neusiedl by Goleador
Austria, Regionalliga Ost (East)
Gameday 2: SV Schwechat - SC Neusiedl am See 1919
For both teams the season started with three points, although both teams were showing no the best performance.
SV Schwechat could avoid relegation last season with a good run of wins in April and May and even save 9th position. But after the last season, there were many players who left the club (8), six of them were starters. On the other side 10 players are new, just two from Regionalliga, the others all from lower league or own second team. Six of those new players are younger than 20, so this can be a problem over the whole season. In the first game Schwechat had to play away against promoted team from Landesliga Niederösterreich: SKN St Pölten II. In a game without great moments and many chances, but with many rough duels Schwechat won with 0-1.
Neusiedl, after a few hard years in Landesliga Burgenland, they got promoted to Regionalliga Ost, because the second team of Parndorf wasn´t allowed to get promoted, as Parndorf was relegated to Regionalliga Ost. Neusiedl decided to have "avoiding relegation" this season as their biggest goal, but there for they have a very good squad, with more quality, than there goal lets us expect. Just four players left and a whole new team, eleven players are new. With players from Erste Liga, Regionalliga and Landesliga, the team is stronger and wider. The most popular player here is Silberbauer, who played at former Erste Liga club Parndorf, but also Enguelle from Mattersburg II and Strapajevic from First Vienna are to mention.
For me odds should be equal here, as Neusiedl has a lot of quality in their squad and shouldn´t be underestimated. In the first game Neusiedl wasn´t the better team against Rapid II, but they showed efficiency in the right situations and won 3-2. For me there is no favourite in this duel.
