Austria, Regionalliga Mitte (Central)
Gameday 2: Union St Florian - Blau Weiss Linz
Today the second games of Regionalliga Mitte will be played and another interesting game will be played. Former coach team of St Florian, the Wahlmüller brothers are new coaches of BW Linz we will see how the adjust their new club Linz against old team.
In St Florian it was a bit curious in preparation. I wrote earlier about St Florian: "Union St Florian in the last years often was traded as one of the candidates to be relegated, but however coach Wahlmüller has formed a good team. Now coach Wahlmüller left to join BW Linz with his brother to create a strong team there. After an investor promissed money to St Florian coach Angerschmid, former Ried coach should come to St Florian and some popular names like Witteveen or Hlinka, players with Bundesliga experience and a lot of quality for such a league also were speculated to join the club. The transfer of former Ried players Reiter even seemed fix, but now there is now investor so: Angerschmid won´t join, Reiter or any other former Bundesliga player too... But this is not enough. With Höltschl (MID/28/7) the playermaker left the club. With Huber (MID/25/0), Krennmayr (MID/27/2), Ortner (DEF/21/1), Zatl (MID/29/10), Prandstätter (MID/14/2), Enengl (MID/2/0) and Mair (MID/18/0) many players the the club too, and with Huber, Krennmayr, Orthner and Zatl also important players. At the time only a few players joined the club, only from lower leagues, so it will be very difficult here again this season." Now there are also other new players, three from Regionalliga Mitte. In the first game St Florian could gain a point against a team, that is high estimated for this season (Austria Klagenfurt). Anyway Austria KLagenfurt dominated the game in first half, but in second half it was visible, that the team is not a unity now, so St Florian was fighting and scored two goals.
Blau Weiss Linz like I wrote high estimated by me for this season. Eight players left the club, but the six new players seem to be good working in the new team. From the new players Gabriel, Gulajev, Vaschau and Krennmayer were in the starting line up at the 4-0 win against Wallern. The best of them was definitly Vaschauner in the last game, who scored two goals vs Wallern. For the coaches it will be a special game, as the game is against their former club, but the team isn´t the same. Just 4 players of Wahlmüllers team of the last year in St Florian played against Klagenfurt. However, the Wahlmüller brothers and also Krennmayr, who also played for St Florian last year are excited, but everybody knows it won´t be easy to win.
I think odds on BW can be lower than 2.00 here too and be fair. So 2.2 at WillHill is still value for me as St Florian just could take profit of a not well rehearsed team of Austria Klagenfurt. Linz completly fullfilled the expectations in the first game and I hope they will continue.
