EP Kings vs Western Province by Serialtips
Rugby, South Africa, Currie Cup
I think that overs of Kings will be interesting to bet during the first couple of rounds because they have a new coach for their comeback in this Currie Cup's Premier Division which is Carlos Spencer, great former fly-half of All Blacks who loves offensive and nice rugby. I am convinced that he will "teach" this rugby as a headcoach and that's why I think that there are high chances to see the Kings playing an offensive rugby.
Very good thing for them is that they are protected from relegation due to new south african rules which protect teams who play/will play in Super Rugby such as the Kings who will come back in two years. So this is perfect for the Kings because they have high chances (on paper) to be one of the bottom two teams, so they have no pressure and this is even better for a team who plays offensive, indeed whatever the team sport, it's easier to play offensive when you don't have pressure and then when you play with relaxation.
On the opposite side, the strong team of Western Province will be once again a favourite for the title.
Since 2008 and the nomination of Allistair Coetzee as headcoach, the team is very pragmatic and surely the best defensive team in Southern hemisphere but they are little more offensive in Currie Cup than in Super Rugby.
Indeed since 2008 and then since Coetzee is their headcoach, match points's average exceeded this cut of 46 points during 5 of those 6 regular seasons in Currie Cup while in Super Rugby it never exceeded once and usually under 40 points, so showing well that they are playing more in Currie Cup.
I don't see why it won't be the case once again this season, knowing also that Coetzee begins to be threaten for his position because the Stormers (which is roughly the name of Western Province in SuperRugby) just failed a second season in-a-row of Super Rugby although they are one of favourites. This is of course unacceptable, and even if amount of injuries can explain that, their too defensive rugby is surely the main explanation and I read that Coeztee has been reprimanded for that, so I think that he has understood the message...
There are many SpringBoks who won't play because they are with the national team to prepare Rugby Championship but the team has a lot of depth and then still looks very good. Besides I personally enjoy to see finally Cheslin Kolbe as fullback, this guy is so great, kind of new Jason Robinson, but Coetzee put him most of the time on the wing which is completely absurd for me because he is touching few balls and then less influential on the game. Here he will surely have opportunities to relaunch as he likes to do, and then make suffered Kings's defense.
Also, I don't have the exact statistic or rate of success, but by experience, I can tell that overs are often successful during Currie Cup's round one because bookies are too careful and put normal cuts.
So my bet is an over 46,5 of points.
