Robert Bautista-Agut is in great shape last couple of months and simply very impressive this season with strong solidity on his baseline, but he made a lot of improvement because he is now attacking more and not only waiting or pushing to the fault his opponent, all those improvements allowed him to enter top 20 and he now deserves a very good 16th rank on ATP.
I expect him to continue to increase his rank during the summer knowing that he missed both north-american Masters 1000 last season so he has nothing to lose in Toronto and Cincinnati.
Of course, there is an interrogation of his adaptation on hard because he didn't play a single match since Miami in March, but I am convinced that he will adapt quickly and play right now very well because he adapted quickly last two months on grass where he won impressively S'Hertogenbosch althought grass was supposed to be his worst surface.
He is going to play Feliciano Lopez (25th) who showed great things on grass recently but then who showed poor performances in Stuttgart and especially in Bogota where he lost in two sets for his entrance against Estrella, showing once again his usual unregularity since many years (except on grass) with a slight nonchalance. That behaviour is clearly a problem to beat solid players such as Bautista-Agut who don't relax during a match, that's why I think that Bautista-Agut will beat Lopez.
Of course, Lopez can show more concentration than recent weeks because it's a Masters 1000 and then definitely much more important than ATP 250 tournaments, but it seems that he has problems with this Masters 1000 in Canada, indeed he has a bad assessment here with 6 wins for 10 losses on his career and he didn't pass the first round on 6 of his 10 participations in this Rogers Cup, knowing that 3 of the 4 others participations are losses during 2nd round, so clearly bad results here for Lopez.
So I think that Bautista-Agut will win this match, I try his win in 2 sets.
