Tottenham vs Celtic Glasgow by Marlo
As always, I advise backing friendlies if value can be derived and if context plays to our advantage. It certainly gives clear indications of both pre requisites here.
First off, Spurs are an ambitious outfit who have a new manager and will have considerable expectations for the season ahead, including but not limited to, a top 4 finish.
They have played 3 friendlies so far, going undefeated in the process and nicking 8 goals during that run. They beat Chicago 2-0, preceded by 3-2 over Toronto and a 3-3 draw with Seattle. All in all, a very good tour of North America.
On the other hand, Celtic are currently in their Champions League qualifier phase and will still be reeling from their last game where they suffered a 4-1 defeat. They actually scored first but then allowed 4 unanswered goals to leave them all but out of Europe's biggest showcase.
As such, this game would be far from priority as they played a couple days ago and will obviously rotate.
Further evidence of lack of reliability is seen in their pre season 1-0 loss to St. Pauli. They were held by Dresden 1-1, accompanied by home and away wins versus KR. Reykjavik.
Spurs all day long here and maybe even a -1 Asian Handicap for added gloss in a game Spurs should win by a few considering circumstances. However, good enough odds for straight win so I'm contented.
