Anderson vs Young by Serialtips

Anderson
VS
Young
Tennis ATP, Washington (hard)

Quarter-finals

Kevin Anderson was very solid and impressive during his previous rounds where he beat comfortably in straight sets Donskoy and Jaziri, even if those results were expected against opponents who are supposed to be a level under him.

Donald Young was more unexpectedly good too with nice wins against Istomin this night or against Benneteau last night.

But now I think that he won't pass this round.

Main weakness of Young is his concentration or mental, indeed he has a poor one which avoid him to be regular on ATP and simply show his true potential.

Here, his lack of concentration will definitely be a major problem against a player with a big serve, indeed against that profile of players, you can't afford to lose your serve, plus you need to be very concentrated on opponent's serve to seize the few opportunities when the opponent is quite relaxing on his serve.

This season, Young has often lost against players who hold well their serve. Indeed except his win against Lopez in Roland-Garros, he lost recently in Newport against Groth in 2 sets, lost in 3 sets in Wimbledon against Becker, lost 2 sets against Kyrgios during a Challenger, or lost against Isner in Miami (even if he won a set)

Moreover, even if their head-to-head is quite balanced with 5 wins for Anderson and 3 for Young, interesting thing is that Anderson won the last 5 meetings, besides he simply always beat Young since he entered top 100.

So I think that Anderson will win this match and I think that he can win it in 2 sets.
