St Patricks vs Legia Warsaw by iSpree
(Champions league qualification, 2. leg)
Kickoff: 23.7.2014 / 20:45 CET
First leg in this champions league qualification round ended 1-1. Legia was very poor at home, everyone expected a 3-0 or even higher but St. Patricks impressed with a good performance and surprised many people. This match will be very interesting to watch because Legia is in a must-score situation because of the away goal from the Ireland team.
Last results from this team show that their defense isn’t really good. The conceded in all of their last 5 matches: 1-1 (vs Legia Warsaw), 1-1 (vs Bohemians D.), 2-1 (vs Shamrock Rovers), 3-2 (vs Bray Wanderers at home), 2-2 (vs Aberdeen at home). So they are not only conceding away, in their last 2 home games they got 4 goals as already mentioned in the results and these teams, Bray Wanderers and Aberdeen, aren’t such big top teams. Yes, St. Patricks only need a 0-0 in this match to qualify, but it’s hard to believe that they won’t concede here. I expect a big offensive power from Legia and this will be a big problem for them. A goal from Legia will change the situation and St Patricks will be in a must-score situation. Most likely we will see the hosts parking the bus or something as they only need the 0-0.
The performance at home was a little bit embarrassing for them and they will want to apologize to the fans in the second leg. This will probably be a hard match for them because they need to score if they want to qualify. Against a very hard defending team from Ireland it might be a hard mission but it won’t be impossible. If course they will try to take the lead in the early minutes of the match and maybe this will cause some counter attacks from their opponents. Legia isn’t good in defending too and counter attacks will very dangerous for them because of that. They conceded in 4 of their last 5: 0-1 (vs Belchatow), 1-1 (vs St. Patricks), 2-3 (vs Bydogoszcz), 4-1 (vs Pogon Szcezecin; last win). These opponents weren’t good and so St Patricks will have chances to score too I think. Their last clean sheet was against Arka Gdynia at home 0-0, but it isn’t very hard to keep the own goal clean from that team. Furthermore all these matches were at home and nevertheless they conceded that much. I think it will be much harder for them not to concede away.
Both teams had huge problems to keep a clean sheet in their last matches and I think It won’t be different today as Legia must score here. If they score the home team must score too and that might get them another goal. Or if St Patricks score as consequence of a counter attack Legia must go more offensive. So I see here a high scoring match and I can’t understand why the odds are that high.
I’m confident that it will end over 2,5 goals due these circumstances. Odds of 3.45 (Marathonbet) for a St Patricks AH0.0 are insane too. Both teams to score would be a good bet too (2.00 bet365).
