Steaua Bucuresti vs Astra by Tesla
Steaua Bucharest won the title last season, while the second best team Astra won the Romanian Cup after they beat today’s opponent in the Cup final.
Steaua have made many changes in team from the last season. The first goalkeeper Ciprian Tătărușanu, who also play in the first Romanian national team, has left the team and joined Fiorentina. Instead of him they brought in Giedrius Arlauskis from Rubin who didn’t play too much there.
The second good player, Mihai Pintilii, also left Steaua and joined Al-Hilal this summer, while on-loan striker Federico Piovaccari also left the club and get back in Sampdoria.
Except those three players who left the club, Steaua will miss another three very important players: midfielder Popa (28/7 m), captian Gardos (29/2 d) and midfielder Samartean (12/2 m).
Another important thing, Steaua Bucharest have appointed former Romanian national player Constantin Gâlcă as a coach. He was solid player, but his managerial career is very poor.
He started in Almería’s B team, in the fourth category, but he was sacked after one year because of bad results. After that he was named as coach of the Romania U-17 side and after one year he came in Steaua.
Astra finished at the second position last season, with two points less than Steaua, but as I said they have managed to win Romanian cup, their first trophy in history.
For today’s match they will be fully motivated to win another trophy and full of confidence start the new season in Divizia A.
Despite the all problems in Steaua, they are still one of the best teams in Romania.
But, another important thing, Steaua will play on Wednesday (16th July) an important match against Strömsgodset in the qualifications for Champions League, so it’s questionable are they really motivated to win this match.
Double chance (X2) on Astra looks like a good betting option.
