Miami Marlins vs Chicago Cubs by ELperro
The Marlins will counter with right-hander Tom Koehler on the mound. Koehler has been solid in 11 starts this season posting a stellar 3.68 ERA. I know it's way too early in the season to draw any conclusions, or to get overly enamored with any team's start to the year. Having said that, I don't think many people out there would've predicted the Marlins to be in 7th place in the National League and had the best home record.
Chicago has compiled a 28-39 record in this season. When general manager, Theo Epstein, came over from a successful franchise in the Boston Red Sox to turn the Cubs around, people were encouraged. Since then, nothing has changed as the Cubs continue to be one of the worst franchises over the past century. Cubs fans are loyal and people love to go to the games, but it’s not about the “W” where Chicago is concerned. Surprisingly, the Cubs offense started off the season on a high note, but have gradually fallen apart. Jason Hammel will need to pitch well tonight, because Cubs starters rarely get run support, just ask Jeff Samardzija who is pitching like a Cy Young candidate.
For today I predict a home win. Miami has been especially tough at home this season going 23-13 in their friendly confines and have everything to pull the W tonight.
