Dundalk vs Sligo Rovers by Marlo

Dundalk
VS
Sligo-Rovers
Only just got a chance to look at the daily schedule of matches.

Lots of friendlies but not very much else going on. Then Dundalk popped out at me.

Well to start off, these two teams met on the 23/05/2014 during the regular season and Dundalk took a comprehensive 3 goal win, winning to nil,3-0.

However, this is a cup game and with both teams expected to make some changes.

Dundalk have won 18 of their last 23, with 2L , 3D. Also, on a 5 game winning streak (home and away) and are undefeated in 8 home games this season, winning 6 times.

This shows that this team has been sound for some time now, playing with confidence and producing results.

They have been finding the net regularly with over 20 strikes from their last 5 home games. I can't see any other team scoring that many versus them on home turf to stay in the game.

Sligo's away record isn't threatening, with 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses from 8. They do struggle for goals away from home with a record of less than a goal per game ratio.

Djilali could be out for guests and no new missings for hosts.

Enough rambling, where does this leave us? I am glad you asked.

Options are win to nil (goal scoring of guests less than average), -1 Asian handicap (void seems worst case scenario) and dnb (extremely safe option at reasonable odds).

I will go for average stake here, outright win market.

Good luck.pin

Good analysis. My only concern is Sligo tend do very well in cups where Dundalk in cups can struggle against top opposition. But I see Dundalk's home advantage could prove in there favour tonight though, good luck
