Iran vs Nigeria by Sureseye

Iran
VS
Nigeria
Iran have not been convincing in their preparatory match to the world cup as they struggle especially to convert chances but have also been the side that would prove hard for any side to break down. They have not won any of their preparatory matches and recently played 1-1 stalemate with Angola, failing to utilize scoring chances. There are fitness concerns over a list of important players in the team as Andranik Temouran, Jalel Hosseni, khosrow Heydari, Mehrad Pooladi and Hashim Beikzadeh will not be at their best due minor knocks or recovery.

Nigeria are poised to offer a shock in the mundial with the array of team work that blends the team, one which saw them as the African champion. Fatigue isn’t expected to set in the team as players who formed framework of the team had limited playing times in their respective clubs through the season and will at least wish to register a strong statement of relevance in their careers. Hopefully, the number of preparatory matches would have re-enacted fitness level. Osaze Odemwingie is expected to bolster the attack line while Uche Nwafor adds new flair to it. Midfield offers compactness with Mikel, Onazi and Igiebor while the defence remains the weakest part of the team but would be marshalled behind the sticks by Vincent Enyeama (best keeper in Africa and second best in Ligue 1).

The group further offers a stiff competition with Argentina and Bosnia&Herzegovina. Both teams today know the importance of setting out for a victory. The Super Eagle have more creative and attacking players to at least enable them edge this out.

@johnaz - What ?!? 2.24 for Nigeria is a good bet, right. "on Nigerian bookies is much higher at 3" - Do you mean local Bookies? Odds of 3.00 would be much better than 2.24. What do you mean by "i will give Nigeria +1 handicap" - If you give Nigeria +1, the odds should be something like 1.10. This is the worst choice ever...

... Probally you were just drunk^^ But if not please explain your comment.

There's always the chance that Nigeria will attempt another suicide game like the friendly vs Scotland. I heard the keeper has taken some drama classes since that game, so he should be able to throw an own goal a bit more convincing against Iran.

Nigeria misses important left defender Echiejile and should be replaced by Oshaniwa (10 caps) otherwise the rest of the team is fully fit. Odds had dropped alot on Nigeria by morning (now 1.9 averagely). I am still searching for the reason

Extremely disgraceful piece of football... Keshi played one man striker against an organized 4-man defence??? Then removes the only creative player, brings in a striker that can't score and Emenike becomes no 10. Nigeria played three holding midfielders against a side that is known for their astute group defending and physique. Coach Keshi was just too poor today
