Jérémy Chardy is 42th on ATP, unfortunately he isn't a seeded player in this french open, but fortunately he has a first round which seems to be a good one.
Recently, I found that he played well on clay, of course there was his win against Federer in Roma who was just coming back from his emotions to be once again Daddy, but not only that, I found his matchs against Haase and Dodig convincing.
Unfortunately he met Raonic who beat him quite easily in Madrid and Roma, Chardy still have problems against players with fast serve, but here it won't be the case.
Daniel Gimeno-Traver is 94th on ATP, solid player on clay as a true spanish.
But his results on clay this season are very unregular, besides there are most bad results than good one, indeed he did a great tournament in Estoril recently, but rest of his results are very poor, with many early losses, and among them worry ones such as losses against Kubot, Rola or Russell : players who are supposed to one level under than him on clay.
So I am not sure that he can worry the french player at home.
So, I think that Chardy will win this match and I think that he is able to do it without needing 5 sets.
