Crystal-Palace
VS
Liverpool
After 5 consecutive wins, Crystal Palace slumped to a 0-2 home defeat against Manchester City in their last game. Their position in the league is secure now and they have nothing to play for. Crystal Palace pulled off impressive results notably against Chelsea and Everton but Chelsea lack offensive power and they find it hard to break down defensive minded teams. The last 5 home games of Crystal Palace have not been great as they won 2 and lost 3 of those home matches, conceding 5 goals while scoring only 2 goals. Crystal Palace have the second weakest attack in the league but their defence has been rather stable. Midfielder Dikgacoi (24/0) is doubtful.

After winning 11 consecutive games in the Premier League, Liverpool finally had to suffer defeat against the B-team of Chelsea. However, they played rather well but it's just that Rodgers had no answer to the defensive tactics of Mourinho. In his latest press conference, the Liverpool manager said:

"I analysed the Chelsea game and there was a lot that was very good. The crime is not losing the game but the problem is that we did not have a solution to break them down. We have to get used to this type of play and be more flexible in the future. I was disappointed with the result but after I watched the game back twice, I phoned Jose Mourinho and offered my congratulations to him again because Jose is my friend."

Liverpool have won their last 6 away matches and they have scored at least 2 goals in all of them. Obviously, they have great offensive power while going forward with the partnership of Luis Suarez (top scorer in EPL) and Daniel Sturridge (second top scorer in EPL) and they have the second best attack in the Premier League. The defence leaves much to be desired as sometimes, they concede goals easily. However, they usually score enough to win matches. Defender Enrique (8/0) is injured while midfielder Henderson (34/4) is suspended.

In my opinion, the Chelsea match is one to forget and Liverpool can still win the Premier League title, provided that Manchester City fail to win at least one of their remaining games. Liverpool still believe in their chances and they will give their all in this game against Crystal Palace to get the 3 points. The home team may try to emulate the tactics of Mourinho to get a result but I don't think it will work this time because Rodgers will surely have a Plan B now and Crystal Palace do not have quality players like Chelsea to be able to defend like them against a free scoring side like Liverpool.

Given the necessity for Liverpool to get the 3 points, they will be fully motivated from the start till the end of the match and with Crystal Palace having already secured survival in the Premier League, they can afford to lose this game but Liverpool cannot afford to lose/draw. Only winning matters here.
