SV Horn - FC Liefering
In this game there is also one team, that needs the points and one team, that is just playing for a better place in the table. And the form of the team also lets us know, which team wants to avoid relegation and which team doesn´t need the points immediately.
The first team I mentioned is Horn. After ups and down, more downs, Horn started a great series of games with a record of 6-2-0 in the last eight games (Cup and league), defeating teams like champion Altach and the teams at the places 2-4 (Lustenau, Kapfenberg and St. Pölten). The last game was a 1-2 away win vs Lustenau, not only in the table the second best team, also for me, but not constant enough to play for the title in the end. In the first half Lustenau could take the lead before the break, having controll over the game for longer parts. Horn had a good start in second half and took the command. And after a chance by Sahanek, a corner by him on defender Djordjevic made the 1-1 possible. Horn was pressing further and in the end Sahenek scored directly after a corner and made another 3 points secure. With this game they could make a six-point advantage on relegation-playoff spot reality, but I am sure they want more: security, avoiding relegation and with a win here getting close to one point to 5th placed team Liefering.
And Liefering is their opponent here, so a six-point game about a very uninteresting 5th place. Liefering with 1-0-2 in their last three games, losing to Lustenau and Parndorf, both away. The last game vs fix relegated team Vienna (who now have got another 10 points drawback after the Bundesliga/Erste Liga was checking the licenses for the next year). But Vienna was even getting in lead in this game, although only Liefering was havin chances. In second half they got the turn around, by one own goal and then Liefering was having a energy boost, as it seemed to me, and scored the 2-1. Liefering is probably the team, that makes the most changes in their team: Almost every game a different lineup, 22 players got their opportunity in the starting line ups of coach Zeidler. But as second team of Bundesliga champion Salzburg they also a duty as development club. For the next game vs Horn, also some players will get another chance here (written on Salzburg/Liefering homepage): "Because of many intensive weeks, with physical pressure and minor injuries, there are some questionable player, where the desicion will me made early before the game. So a few players from academy (born 1996/1997) will be in the squad an maybe be applied."
For me another win for the home team here has definitly value. Horn is in great form and have all players available, except long-term injured players, who are not worth mentioning for me. Liefering hasn´t got a real goal any more, as avoiding relegation (their goal, they said at the beginning of the season) was secured early and relegation was never disuessed since the start of the season. Also some changes will be made by coach Zeidler. I am sure Horn wants to win this and get self-confidence for the Cup-game vs Salzburg, although they know, they are huge underdog in this game next week.
