Taro Daniel vs Frank Dancevic by Tennisguy

This is a second round match from the Sarasota challenger tournament(clay) between Taro Daniel from Japan and Frank Dancevic from Canada.

Taro Daniel is ranked 192 and Dancevic is 140. They have never met in a h2h match before.

Dancevic played in the first round against Tim Smyczek and won 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 so it means he is probably in a good form. He has managed a good result in the past here getting to the semifinal stage in 2011 so I think he is very fond of the conditions here. He prefers to play on fast surfaces most of the time but his win against Smyczek who was the nr.1 favorite in this tournament means that he is in a very good form.

Taro Daniel is playing for the first time in this tournament and has managed to get a win in the first round against Ruben Bemelmans 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. He kind of struggled in his first tour against an opponent that only played 16 clay matches in the last 2 and a half years so I don't think he is in the best shape. Taro does play a lot of clay court matches but those matches are mostly on the Futures tour so I think it's a stretch to call him a clay court specialist. He managed some good matches this year on clay at Vina del Mar but after that he lost almost every match.

Dancevic definitely has the more aggressive style of play and the better service so he will have a big chance here. Also he managed a good win in the previous tour against an opponent that is much better than the one he has today. If he plays at the same level he played against Smyczek I believe he is going to manage a win in this match.
