Sunderland vs Everton by 20legend

Sunderland is rock bottom with only 25 points and they are running out of time now. They have two games in hand on the other relegation teams, and things must happen now if it should be any hope. However, given their performance against Tottenham (5-1), it looks like every player thinks about the Championship already. They played a horrible game and the coach Poyet will have a hard time on wheather to give all of his players another chance, or if he wants to shuffle the starting lineup and hope for a better effect. There are no new injuries as keeper Kieran Westwood (10/0) and striker Steven Fletcher (20/3) are the two unavailable players. It is expected that John O’Shea (26/1) will return into the starting lineup, after being benched against Tottenham.

There is absolutely no doubt about Everton’s form and momentum these days. Their victory against Arsenal (3-0) last weekend cam in a fantastic manner, and they will be full of confidence when heading to Stadium of Light today. Midfielder Leon Osman (32/3) is doubtful ahead of the meeting, while central-back Phil Jagielka (24/0) is the only injured player.

With the victory against Arsenal, Everton will be in a whole different position as they have an extra game in hand when thinking about the 4th place. Their two opponents will be Sunderland and Crystal Palace within the next few days, and a possible six points is expected of them. The pressure is on The Toffies at the moment and the question will be if they can handle it.

I cannot see a way for Sunderland to get something out of this game at all. The points are needed in both teams, but it is only one of them that seem to give it all. Sunderland must gamble forward weather if they like it or not, as only three points will be good enough in the remaining games. Everton must cope with their pressure, but I think they will do fine. Their coach Roberto Martinez looks to know how to keep his guys on the ground, which also seems to benefit of the morale within the whole club. I definitely see Everton going tonight, while Sunderland might get a goal as well. However, I pick Everton to score at least two goals in this one. I predict a 0-2, 0-3, 1-2, 1-3 result.
