Genoa vs Milan by JerryDrake

There is always a last chance

Will you believe me if I say that Milan can still qualify to Europa League? No, I know. But they really can. They used all of their energies in the Champions League and now that they are out results are coming in Serie A: one draw with Lazio and two wins with Fiorentina and Chievo.

Italian house taxes and football rules

If you look at the Serie A tables in Soccerway, Xscores and all others you will think that only the 4th and the 5th can access the Europa League (I dont like this name „Europa League“, from now on I call it the Uefa Cup, I'm a rebel). In reality the situation is different: as Napoli and Fiorentina will play the Coppa Italia final, and one of the two or maybe both will be at the top 3, while the other 4th or 5th, there will be another place for the 6th. Or the opposite. I dont remember, it's too complicated, like Italian house taxes.

Hidden third Uefa spot

Anyway, to make it short: a way or the other, things will go the right way, there will be a 3rd spot, dont ask me how, it's an Italian rule to make things and rules the way that they can fit at the end to the ones they want. In Italy football federation and rules remind me a lot Joseph Blatter, he must have had Italian grand-parents.

Milan to face the bottom three

Genoa with 39 are safe, Milan can save their season by qualifying to Uefa. With a 3rd Uefa spot, we have Lazio with 48, Parma 47, Atalanta 46, Verona 46, Torino 45, Milan 42, Sampdoria 41. Included this game, Milan must play 7 games, 3 of them all at home with all 3 bottom teams: Catania, Livorno and Sassuolo.

Full stake

In their last match Genoa both played with teams from Verona: Genoa lost to Hellas Verona 0-3, Milan defeated Chievo 3-0. I bet Milan full stake, correct score: 1-3 Balotelli, Gilardino, Honda, Pazzini.

Probable line-ups

Genoa: Perin, Antonini, De Maio, Burdisso, Motta, Sturaro, Bertolacci, Cofie, Antonelli, Gilardino, Sculli. Trainer: Gasperini

Milan: Abbiati, Bonera, Rami, Mexes, Emanuelson, De Jong, Montolivo, Honda, Kaká, Taarabt, Balotelli. Trainer: Seedorf

Out: Matuzalem, Kucka (Genoa), El Shaarawy, De Sciglio, Essien, Muntari, Amelia, Petagna (Milan)

Bet: Milan, odds: 2.10 William Hill, stake: 10/10

love your analysis! ....but for this match, do you really thnik, that milan wants to play europa league next season? IMO, Italian aren't very interested in this competition and obviously play with thier "secondary" players. This season is exeption, due to fact, that final match will be played in Italy. Milan used to play champions league regularly and EL means nothing for them, just my opinion

You are a pro - stats 30-60 . Don't be so sure - Genoa is a good team
and vs. Milan they are at home.

Every year when Milan need a win Genoa is here to save the day. Everybody knows that Genoa and Milan have special relationship. They buy together players, they give each other players, and of course they give each other points if someone needs them. I read that Milan is interesting about League Europa so away win is logical here

Since Milan were eliminated by Atletico in CL also their results in A changed except the first one, the game with Parma and Galliani stated on March 11 that qualifying to EL has become the priority. Lets wait and see. Yesterday I wrote it at Parma-Napoli Kamlesh's preview 'attention: there are three spots and Parma still want it'. I hope that Balotelli will do his job.
