Tromsdalen vs Strommen by 20legend
Tromsdalen is back again in 1st Division after last season and their target will definitely be to keep them there. The team’s inconsistency over the years has come because of it seems that Tromsdalen’s level lies between the 1st and 2nd Division. It is expected to be a fight for avoiding relegation again, but it is going to be very though with teams like Ranheim, Sandefjord and big brother Tromso are coming to visit this year.
However, they have a stronger squad on paper than last season with signings of the defensive duo Hans Åge Yndestad (Senja) and Thomas Vibe (on loan from Hodd). They have also got an existing midfielder in Jonathan Barlow (Senja) that also Bodo/Glimt (Tippeligaen) was trying to sign last season. On the other side, the loss of Jonas Johansen to Tromso was a big blow for them, as he was one of their most important players.
They have struggled a lot with injuries this winter, an especially defensively, and it could be two midfielders that must step in as central-backs to this game. However, the striking-duo upfront with Tor Marting Mienna (16 goals last season) and Vegard Lysvoll (14 goals last season) certainly knows where the goal stands. It is crucial that they can deliver at this level as well, if Tromsdalen should stand any chance of not getting relegated.
Strommen is one of the most unpredictable teams in this league and you never know what to expect from each game. They are always fighting to avoid relegation and this season will be no different. It was after a terrible first half of the season, that the manager Erland Johnsen (former Chelsea-player) got fired. The replacement was Gunnar Halle (former Leeds and Oldham-player) and he got Strommen going in the second half of the season. That brought them up to a safe spot over the relegation zone and this season will be a hope of establishing the team at this level.
They have lost quite a few important players as always and some have also been brought in. The keeper Arild Ostbo is definitely their biggest loss as he saved Strommen on his own many times last season. The replacement however is very good in Haraldur Bjornsson (loan from Sarpborg 08. He is a very solid keeper at this level and has plenty of experience. It will also be a challenge to manage without their midfielders Stian Rasch, Kristoffer Tokstad and Jan Tore Amundsen. They possessed a huge force for Strommen last season when it comes to capacity through 90 minutes, and will be truly missed this year.
Overall this is already and important match for both teams as they will fight for avoiding relegation this season. Three points here could be a factor in that fight and with two offensive minded teams, it should be some goals involved here. Tromsdalen are struggling defensively, while Strommen must travel a long way north to play this match. Both teams are also very unstable and I expect at least three goals tonight.
