Hartberg vs First Vienna by Goleador
TSV Hartberg - First Vienna
Both teams in this duel are fighting against relegation, but the situations are very different. Hartberg on 7th spot has nine points advantage in front of last placed Vienna. Vienna, currently on the relegation place is seven points behind relegation play-off place and eight points behind a save place.
Hartberg is also involved in relegation fight, as they are just two points in front of 9th place, which is the relegation play-off spot. In the last six games Hartberg has a record of 1-4-1. But there were draws vs teams like Altach (1.), Austria Lustenau (3.) or St. Pölten (4.). Especially the last game, vs St Pölten Hartberg showed a performance, where everyone would expect the team in upper half of the table. Before this game Hartberg had to take a 1-5 loss vs Kapfenberg, but the win was far too high, due to many wrong desicions of the referee in this game. In this game also topscorer Günther Friesenbichler was missing and his comeback in St Pölten was fulminant. Hartberg started from the beginning to play into the offense and Friesenbichler got fouled, but missed the penalty. Shortly after that, Another penalty should have given, but Hartberg didn´t get the chance, because the referee saw the situation in another way. Hartberg didn´t give up and scored the 1-0 in minute 37. Before HT break St Pölten score the equalising goal surpisingly after a corner. In second half it was the same picture, Hartberg combined and St. Pölten was in defense. But in the end Hartberg didn´t use many good chances and St Pölten even could score the winning goal, but GK Rindler could hold one point with a brilliant save. If Hartberg shows such a performance again Vienna won´t have many chances to score a least one goal. There are no missings here and Mislov is back in the sqad again after he was missing.
Vienna couldn´t win win in the last 13 games. 0-4-9 was the record the led to a change in the staff team. Mario Posch is the new coach of Vienna since the last week. He was co-coach at Wr. Neustadt before he came to Vienna and I´m very doubtful, if he can handle this challenge. Three consecutive losses and poor performances don´t give me hope that this will change tomorrow. On 25th March the team lost at home vs St. Pölten and there were no chances out of the game. A set piece brought them their only goal, but St Pölten was much stronger. Against Lustenau Vienna showed a better effort, but also here: Lustenau created chances and Vienna only was dangerous after set pieces. Vienna also has no notable missing players.
Both teams need a win for fighting against relegation, but Hartberg has more qualitiy in their squad (3,5 Mio TSV Hartberg - 2,5 Mio Vienna) and with Friesenbichler a good striker with a lot of Austrian Bundesliga experience. I am not sure if Vienna´s new coach Posch can improve the team in just one week, at least the motivation and atmosphere is a bit better. For me there is definetly value on home win.
