Chelsea suffered defeat in their last match against Aston Villa and they are losing ground in the title race in the Premier League. Chelsea lack a decent striker as Torres (23/4) still underperforms and it's very likely he will be sold in the next transfer market. Chelsea still boast the best defence in the Premier League and one of the best defence in the Champions League as well. Surely, Mourinho lays great emphasis on defence but they are limited in attack. Midfielder David Luiz (17/0) and striker Eto (19/8) are doubtful until match kick off while midfielders Matic (11/0) and Salah (4/1) are ineligible to play.
The defeat against Aston Villa has greatly influenced the odds for this Champions League clash as bookmakers expect PSG to get an easy win here. I agree that Chelsea are not performing so well in away matches recently but if we analyse Chelsea's games this season, the defeats have come against the small teams. In fact, they have defeated all the top teams like Liverpool (home), Manchester City (home and away), Arsenal (home and away (league cup)), etc but they lose points against struggling teams. Chelsea always perform very well in high profile games but in low profile games, they have a tendency to feel the pressure.
From my point of view, Chelsea have more chances of winning against teams which play attacking football against them as they usually like to hit on counter attacks but when they play against small teams who play a deep defensive line, they suffer because these teams leave few space at the back. Mourinho is a coach who relishes the big games and I cannot write his team off in this match because he knows how to grind out results against the top teams. This match is completely different from the Aston Villa game as Chelsea will employ different tactics against PSG. As such, the match against Aston Villa cannot be used as a reference to write off Chelsea's chances in Champions League.
Given Mourinho's experience and record against the top teams, I don't think Chelsea are going to lose this game. Besides, Mourinho has already worked with PSG's leading scorer Ibrahimovic (30/25) and I expect him to know about his strengths and weaknesses. I trust Mourinho to come up with something special against the French and I'll back Chelsea to either win/draw because the odds seem exaggerated to me.
