Muller vs Kudla by Tennisguy

This is the final of the Guadalajara challenger tournament between Gilles Muller from Luxembourg and Denis Kudla from USA.

They have never met in a h2h match. Muller is ranked 273 and Kudla is 126.

To get to the final Muller had to get past the qulifiers and the in the main draw he defeated de Schepper, Polansky, Brown and Ram. His last two matches were were hard as they were both finished in 3 sets. Muller was a top 100 player 3 years ago but since then he has struggled with injuries. This year he seems to be better, managing a couple of winning streaks on the lower level tournament. He did play very well in his matches here but after playing 7 of them only here in Guadalajara I don't really think he has much in the tank for this final.

Kudla advanced to this final stage by defeating Smith, Lacko, Pavic and Struff. He had a hard match against Struff that he won in a third set tiebreak but other than that it was mostly smooth sailing for him. The conditions really seem to suit him here in Guadalajara as he looks to be playing his best tennis. His serve is really on point most of the time and the forehand shot is packing some power in it as well as accuracy. He is definitely more fresh than his opponent today which I think is going to be the deciding factor in this match.

It's probably going to be a close contest but if Kudla manages to get the first set I doubt that Muller will have the energy to fight back an make a comeback.
