Townsend vs Gajdosova by Tennisguy

This is a qualifying match from the Charleston WTA tournament between Taylor Townsend from USA and Jarmila Gajdosova from Australia.

Both these players are very low ranked as Townsend is nr. 373 and Gajdosova is 333. That being said the australian player has been as high as nr.25 in the past so the quality is there. She struggled in the last two years with some injury problems but she seems almost fully recovered in this year. In her first match here in the qualif. rounds she defeated Tamira Paszek 6-3, 7-6(5).

Townsend is a young player that had a good junior career and now is trying to make a name for herself in the pros. Unfortunately for her her physical condition doesn't really help her as she looks kind of overweight compared to most women tennis players. She is a lefty and she has a very good forehand but her court movement is very poor so she need to really start improving in that area. In her previous match from the Charleston qualif. rounds she defeated Alize Lim in a hard battle that ended 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

I think Gajdosova has way to much experience on her side to not win this match against a player that not only is very young but has a lot to work on to become at least a top 100 player.
