Austria Klagenfurt vs Villacher by Goleador
Austria, Regionalliga Mitte
SK Austria Klagenfurt - Villacher SV
It´s Derbytime in Carinthia. Austria Klagenfurt will face Villach and look forward to gain points to reach the third place in the table.
Before the season Austria Klagenfurt was one of the candidates for the title. At the time they are on fourth place out of reach (with 32 points) of the two leading teams Pasching with 45 points and LASK with 50 points. In the winter break eight players left the club, under them five Spanish players who were payed by an sponsor who broke up the cooperation with the club. But Klagenfurt still has the squad to play for the Top 3 this season and aim the title next season. After winter break the team won the first game but this win was followed by two losses. A 0-7 vs LASK (but LASK has far the strongest team and there is no doubt that they will advance now, because they are the only team who asked for a license for Erste Liga) and a 3-5 loss vs in form Vöcklamarkt. In this last game it was tough and the game was open all the time, but Vöcklamarkt had the better end on their side. For todays game Miesenböck (ATT/16/4) will be missing due to suspension.
Villacher SV had many problems before the season and generally a very young team. In winter break there weren´t any great changes and it will be tried to play with continuity and built up a good team. The team started with two win (both home) and an away loss. The loss was a clear 3-0 vs WAC II. The two wins were both open games and VSV was the luckier side. Especially the first game after winter, a 2-1 win vs Sturm Graz II, were Bevab (Sturm II) missed a penalty in minute 93 wasn´t fair at all. Vs SAK Klagenfurt (last week) Villach just was more efficient and won in a hard and tough game. After this game there are now three players suspended: Trattnig (MID/17/0), Ebner (ATT/best scorer/17/8), Isopp (DEF/15/2); and four players injured: Warmuth (DEF/12/0), Ramusch (MID/17/1), Kecanovic (MID/16/2) and I. Drmac (MID/14/0).
For me the sign are on a derby won for the home side. The players from Klagenfurt are on fire and VSV has many problems, so also VSV coach Hrstic sees Austria Klagenfurt as the clear favourite in this game (as he states in an interview).
