Real-Madrid
VS
Barcelona
Real Madrid are on top of the league with a 3-point lead over Atletico Madrid and a 4-point lead over Barcelona. They have the second best attack in the league and the third best defence. They are currently undefeated in their last 32 games in all competitions with 5 draws and 27 wins. They have lost only one home game this season and this defeat came against Atletico Madrid earlier this season. Otherwise, they have won the remaining home games. Defender Arbeloa (16/0), midfielder Khedira (11/1) and striker Jese (18/5) are injured.

Barcelona find themselves behind Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in the league. They suffered a dip in form after the defeat against Real Sociedad and Real Valladolid but they bounced back with a win over Manchester City in the Champions League and the 7-0 thrashing to Osasuna in their last league game. They possess the best attack and second best defence in the league. Defender Puyol (5/1) and forward Cuenca (0/0) are expected to be out but this does not matter because these players have not really played this season. Virtually, they will be at full strength for this game.

This is the biggest match in Spain and there is a great rivalry prevailing between these teams. Barcelona are underdogs in this match mainly because of their setbacks against Real Sociedad and Valladolid as well as their inconsistency in away matches. From my personal observation, Barcelona actually suffer against teams which play ultra defensively against them and these matches cannot be used as a reference to judge Barcelona in the El Classico.

This is a completely different game and Real Madrid are playing attacking football and Barcelona perform very well against teams which attack them as they showed against Manchester City in the Champions League. The problem of Barcelona is against defensive teams and not the other way round. They have already defeated Real Madrid in Camp Nou this season but their opponents have improved from that defeat. Nevertheless, they still have the potential to defeat Real Madrid.

This is the last chance for Barcelona to get back in the title race. A defeat here would mean that their fight for the title would be virtually over. This match can go either way because Barcelona still possess some of the best players in the world like forward Messi (21/18) and playmakers Iniesta (25/2) and Xavi (22/3) who can make the difference in any game at anytime. From a betting standpoint, I prefer to back the team with the better odds on asian handicap because for me both teams have equal chance of winning.

GL Kamlesh. I think the opposite: the defeats with Real Sociedad and Valladolid were two significative signs, Barcelona are now not as "convinced" as Real Madrid. And if I well know Ancelotti (former Juventus and Milan trainer), he will let no room for surprises. The main difference is given also by the duel CR-Messi. Cristiano Ronaldo scored already 25, Messi 18. Cristiano Ronaldo has become a real Real leader. Real should win this one. Anyway GL and keep the very good work you are doing!

Thank you Jerry for your comment. In my opinion, Barcelona are famous for their diving antics and the referees often favour them by giving them penalties or giving red cards to their opponents. There is a high probability this game will turn in favour of Barcelona with the help of referees. It has happened so many times.

This match can go either way in my opinion. It's difficult to write off a team which has players like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. According to me, there is no favourite and in such a case, I'll go with the better odds.. :) :)

You are right on the subject "referees": with Undiano Mallenco as referee Real 23-7-7, Barcelona 20-12-3, in the clasicos: 1 draw, 1 win for Real and 4 wins for Barcelona. Still, if I have to bet on this match, I go straight for Real. (I wanted to write a publish a preview but I dont know if it's allowed as there are already 2 in Betshoot).
