Sam Querrey vs Stakhovsky by Tennisguy

This is a match from the first tour of the Miami tournament between Sam Querrey from USA and Sergiy Stakhovsky from Ukraine.

Querrey is ranked 62 and Stakhovsky is 79 . They have met 3 times in the past with the score being 2-1 in favor of the american.

The surface in Miami is pretty fast so I think that will favor Querrey who definitely has the stronger and the better service. He will probably win his service games quite easily and that will give him a lot of confidence on his return also. He isn't having the best start to the year but he has always played good in the american tournaments. Last year he managed a 4th round in Miami where he lost to Berdych, so he is surely comfortable with the surface and the conditions here.

Stakhovsky had a good start to the year with a semifinal in Sydney but after that he didn't manage anything else. He mostly lost in the first rounds of the tournament he played in. He played a challenger tournament last week in Irving and lost in the semifinals against Lucas Rosol 5-7, 6-1, 6-0. He seemed to have some physical problems after the first set so I don't think he is 100% fit for this match. He is more of an offensive player with a lot of advances to the net, but I don't think he will get any rhythm from Querrey who will probably serve up a lot of aces and overall hit the ball much harder then him. Last year he lost in the first round of the qualifiers to Jack Sock in 3 sets 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-2.

Querrey will surely have the crowd support and will overpower Stakhovsky in every department which will end up bringing him the victory. pin
