Napoli vs Porto by Kamlesh
Having defeated Napoli in the Europa League, Porto returned to their poor form and they lost their last match in the league against Sporting CP. Interim coach Luis Castro is still in charge of the first team and he will be looking to preserve the 1 goal lead against Napoli in the return leg. Porto do not play particularly well on their travels. In fact, in their last 6 away matches in all competitions, they won only once, drew thrice and lost twice. Main Goalkeeper Helton (23/0) is injured, defender Sandro (21/0) is suspended and defender Ba (6/0) is ineligible.
In the first leg between these two teams, Napoli were a bit unlucky to lose this match because they could well have levelled the score. They created some goalscoring chances and it was really surprising how they could have missed clear goalscoring chances (notably in 55' mins).
Napoli are undefeated in their last 12 home matches in all competitions (3 draws, 9 victories, 5 clean sheets). In fact, Napoli have lost only 1 home game this season from 21 home games played and they have scored at least 1 goal in 20 of them. At home, Napoli are very strong and they have even defeated teams like Roma, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund this season. Porto, on the other hand, have conceded at least 1 goal in their last 6 away matches in all competitions.
I still believe Napoli are the better team and they have the more experienced coach but they were unlucky in the first leg. With home advantage now, I'm quite confident Napoli will do enough to get a win here. Napoli coach Benitez has described this clash like a final for his team and he will do everything to win it.
