Atletico Madrid ended last week with an away win against Celta Vigo. Despite missing important players through suspension notably midfielder Tiago (15/2), midfielder Arda Turan (22/3), defender Diego Godin (24/2) and leading scorer Diego Costa (26/21), they played really well. On a positive note, these players have been well rested. All of them will be back for this important Champions League clash. Only substitute defender Manquillo (3/0) will be missing through injury. So, virtually, Atletico Madrid will be at full strength.

They are still undefeated in all their Champions League matches this season with 6 wins and 1 away draw in 7 matches played. They have one of the best defence in the Spanish League and in the Champions League as well. In fact, in this tournament, they have conceded only 3 goals and scored 16 goals in those 7 matches. They have lost only once at home this season in all competitions. That only home defeat came against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey but Atletico Madrid were missing many of their best players on that day. And 2 weeks ago, they played against Real Madrid again and this time in the league and I really liked the way they played with the match ending 2-2. They have fantastic support from their home crowd which clearly motivates the players to give their best in home games.

AC Milan, on the other hand, are having a disappointing season. Having sacked Allegri, they appointed Seedorf but results have not improved under him. In some matches, they play well and in some of them, they play poorly. They are clearly inconsistent in their performances. Last time, they were defeated at home in the Champions League by Atletico Madrid (0-1). So, basically, they will have to go on attacking mode in this away match if they want to get something against their opponent today. As such, this will expose their already shaky defence. Midfielder Cristante, midfielder Montolivo (21/2), forward Shaarawy (4/0) and forward Petagna (2/0) are expected to be out for today.

Atletico Madrid will not depend on their 1 goal lead (on aggregate) and they are going to attack AC Milan as stated by their coach. Besides, they are playing at home in front of their fans and this will be a real boost. Atletico Madrid Diego Simeone is a very experienced coach and I doubt the qualities of Seedorf (AC Milan) as manager because he does not have experience at managerial level. He has not proved anything yet as a manager.

With the Madrid's strikers Diego Costa (26/21) and David Villa (25/13) in great scoring form at the moment, all the conditions lean towards a home win.
